Emotional Intelligence for Poker - 5 of 5
The fifth and final EQ skill. Let’s face it, we poker players do not live in a vacuum. We all are part of a family unit, a community, society. We are social creatures who are dependent on others and who others depend on, be they family, friends, an “investor”, a “horse”, etc. We are also members of a community called “the poker community”. It is important that we teach ourselves how to treat our fellow poker players well so that they will thus continue to play the game and (if we are professionals) continue to “contribute” to the game and, through the process of “word of mouth”, bring their friends along. We poker players are in the service business. We are also in the entertainment business. The ability to handle relationships with other players is critical part of poker success.
